Is it for you?
Who SodaSlim Suits, and Who Should Ask a Doctor First
SodaSlim may suit healthy adults who handle caffeine well and want a simple capsule with a fully printed label.
Keep your daily caffeine under 400 mg. It is not meant for anyone under 18, pregnant or nursing, and people with liver or heart rhythm problems, high blood pressure, anxiety or regular medications should ask a doctor first.

A good fit
Who is SodaSlim for?
SodaSlim fits a narrow group: healthy adults who already drink some caffeine without trouble and want a one-a-day capsule with every amount on the label.
It works best as a small add-on for someone already changing food and activity habits. It is not a plan by itself, and it is not a weight-loss medicine.
- Age 18 or older
- Not pregnant, not nursing
- Comfortable with about one or two cups of coffee a day
- Daily caffeine from drinks under about 260 mg
- No liver, heart rhythm or blood pressure problems
- Not taking regular medicines, or cleared by a doctor

Is SodaSlim right for you? Answer five questions

The five questions cover the label's own cautions plus the main risks of caffeine and liver-linked extracts. One "stop" answer is enough to skip SodaSlim.

Who should not take SodaSlim?
The label itself rules out two groups: anyone under 18, and pregnant or nursing mothers. Public health sources add several more groups who should ask a doctor first.
| Group | What to do | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Under 18 | Do not use | The label says not for use by individuals under 18 |
| Pregnant or nursing | Do not use | Label caution; pregnancy caffeine advice is under 200 mg a day from all sources (MedlinePlus: caffeine in the diet (pregnancy)); little is known about garcinia in pregnancy (NCCIH: garcinia cambogia) |
| Caffeine-sensitive | Skip or ask a doctor | Too much caffeine can cause restlessness, insomnia, fast heart rate and anxiety (MedlinePlus: caffeine) |
| Liver disease | Ask a doctor first | Garcinia (LiverTox score B) and green tea extract (score A) are linked to liver injury (LiverTox: Garcinia cambogia) (LiverTox: green tea) |
| Irregular heartbeat or high blood pressure | Ask a doctor first | MedlinePlus advises checking with a provider about caffeine (MedlinePlus: caffeine) |
| Taking any medicine | Ask a doctor first | The label says so; green tea can reduce the effect of nadolol (NCCIH: green tea) |
Caffeine
Can caffeine-sensitive people take SodaSlim?
Usually not. Each capsule holds 138 mg of caffeine anhydrous, and there is no lower-strength option or half dose on the label.
FDA treats 400 mg a day as an amount not generally linked to harm in healthy adults (FDA: how much caffeine is too much). Subtract 138 mg and you have about 260 mg left for coffee, tea, soda and energy drinks. A 6-oz cup of coffee has about 75 to 100 mg (MedlinePlus: caffeine in the diet (pregnancy)), so two or three small cups can fill the rest.
If even one coffee makes you jittery or keeps you awake, SodaSlim is likely to do the same. Our caffeine in SodaSlim guide has a full counter.
Liver health
Should people with liver problems take SodaSlim?
Not without a doctor's approval. Two of SodaSlim's five ingredients carry liver warnings in federal databases, even though the amounts here are small.
- Garcinia. NCCIH says it "may be unsafe" because of numerous liver-toxicity reports (NCCIH: garcinia cambogia). Pre-2009 Hydroxycut, which contained it, was pulled after 23 serious liver injury reports (FDA Hydroxycut warning (2009), as reported).
- Green tea extract. More than 100 published liver injury cases, and LiverTox calls it a well-established cause (LiverTox: green tea). NIH ODS counts at least 50 case reports since 2006 (NIH ODS: green tea and liver).
Dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, belly pain or unusual tiredness can signal liver injury (LiverTox: green tea). Do not wait for the next dose.

Order nowHeart and blood pressure
Is SodaSlim safe for people with heart rhythm or blood pressure problems?
Ask your doctor before you start. NCCIH notes that products with a lot of caffeine can raise heart rate and cause abnormal heart rhythms (NCCIH: weight control).
MedlinePlus names arrhythmia and high blood pressure among the conditions where caffeine needs a provider's input (MedlinePlus: caffeine). That includes people whose blood pressure is controlled with medicine. A capsule a day may seem small, but it stacks with every other caffeine source.
Medicines
Can you take SodaSlim with medication?
Check with your doctor or pharmacist first; the label asks for that if you take any medicine. One interaction is on record in our sources: high doses of green tea can reduce the effect of the beta-blocker nadolol (NCCIH: green tea).

Other paths
Who may be better served by other options?
Adults with a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related condition, may qualify for approved prescription medicines (NIDDK: prescription weight-loss medicines).
Those medicines have trial data that SodaSlim lacks. A doctor can tell you whether you qualify.
Before you start
What should you ask your doctor about SodaSlim?
Three short questions cover most of the risk. Take the bottle with you so the doctor can read the label.
Is 138 mg more caffeine safe for me?
Mention your heart rate, blood pressure, sleep and any anxiety.
Is my liver healthy enough for garcinia and green tea extract?
Ask whether a blood test makes sense before or during use.
Does it clash with my medicines?
Name each one, including nadolol or other heart drugs.

FAQ
Who SodaSlim is for: common questions
Who should not take SodaSlim?
Anyone under 18 and pregnant or nursing mothers should not take SodaSlim, per its label. People with liver disease, heart rhythm problems, high blood pressure, anxiety, sleep problems or regular medicines should ask a doctor first.
Can I take SodaSlim if I drink coffee?
Possibly, if your total stays under 400 mg a day. One capsule has 138 mg of caffeine, leaving about 260 mg for coffee and other drinks. A 6-oz cup of coffee has about 75-100 mg.
Is SodaSlim safe while breastfeeding?
No. The SodaSlim label says it is not for use by pregnant or nursing mothers. Its caffeine and garcinia are reasons for caution, and NCCIH says little is known about garcinia in pregnancy.
Can teenagers take SodaSlim?
No. Per the label, SodaSlim is not for anyone under 18. Teens with weight concerns should talk with a doctor about safe options instead.
Is SodaSlim okay if I have high blood pressure?
Ask your doctor first. MedlinePlus says people with high blood pressure or arrhythmia should check with a provider about caffeine, and each SodaSlim capsule has 138 mg.
Is SodaSlim safe if I have fatty liver or liver disease?
Only with a doctor's approval. Garcinia and green tea extract are both linked to rare liver injury in LiverTox, so anyone with liver disease should get personal advice before trying it.
Does SodaSlim interact with any medicines?
The label asks anyone on medicine to consult a physician first. NCCIH reports that high doses of green tea can reduce the effect of nadolol, a heart medicine. Ask a pharmacist to check your full list.
