SodaSlim Side Effects, Ingredient by Ingredient
Most SodaSlim side effects come from its 138 mg of caffeine per capsule.
These can include restlessness, trouble sleeping, a fast heartbeat or anxiety (MedlinePlus: caffeine). Rarely, garcinia and green tea extract are linked to liver injury (LiverTox: Garcinia cambogia) (LiverTox: green tea), so stop and call a doctor if you notice dark urine or yellow skin or eyes.

The short version
Does SodaSlim have side effects?
Yes, it can. Most reported problems with products like SodaSlim trace back to caffeine, and each capsule lists 138 mg of it.
The two plant extracts with a liver warning, garcinia and green tea, are present in small amounts. Small does not mean zero risk, though. LiverTox rates green tea extract as a well-established cause of rare liver injury (LiverTox: green tea), and garcinia as a probable one (LiverTox: Garcinia cambogia).
No published study has tracked side effects in people taking SodaSlim itself. So we list only the effects that public health sources name for each ingredient.
FDA does not approve supplements before they go on sale (FDA: supplements are not pre-approved), so your own watchfulness matters. Take one capsule in the morning, never more.
Ingredient by ingredient
Which SodaSlim ingredients cause side effects?
Caffeine causes the common ones. Garcinia and green tea extract carry the rare but serious liver risk. Green coffee adds a little extra caffeine, and raspberry ketone has too little human data to say much at all.
| Ingredient | Per capsule | Effects the sources describe | How often |
|---|---|---|---|
| Caffeine anhydrous | 138 mg | Restlessness, insomnia, fast heart rate, anxiety (MedlinePlus: caffeine). Large amounts can raise heart rate and cause abnormal heart rhythms (NCCIH: weight control). | Common when total caffeine runs high |
| Green tea extract | 130 mg (about 58.5 mg EGCG) | Liver injury, mostly reported with extracts (NCCIH: green tea). More than 100 published cases (LiverTox: green tea). | Rare |
| Garcinia extract | 130 mg (about 65 mg HCA) | Severe or fatal acute liver injury in rare cases (LiverTox: Garcinia cambogia). NCCIH says it "may be unsafe" (NCCIH: garcinia cambogia). | Estimated under 1 in 10,000 users (LiverTox: Garcinia cambogia) |
| Green coffee bean extract | 130 mg | Contains some caffeine of its own (NIH ODS: green coffee bean extract). The label does not print how much. | Not published |
| Raspberry ketone | 130 mg | Only studied in people as part of combinations, so its own safety is not well known (NIH ODS: raspberry ketone). | Not published |
Caffeine
What caffeine side effects can SodaSlim cause?
Too much caffeine can make you restless, keep you awake, speed up your heart and leave you anxious, says MedlinePlus (MedlinePlus: caffeine). One SodaSlim capsule is roughly one or two cups of coffee.
The risk depends on your whole day, not the capsule alone. FDA puts the general limit for healthy adults at 400 mg a day from all sources (FDA: how much caffeine is too much). One capsule plus a large coffee habit can pass that line without you noticing.
Signs you have had too much
- Jittery hands or a racing pulse
- Lying awake at night
- A wired, anxious feeling
- A pounding or uneven heartbeat
Very large amounts are dangerous. Taking about 1,200 mg quickly can cause seizures (FDA: how much caffeine is too much). FDA has also acted against pure caffeine powders sold in bulk, after deaths in healthy people (FDA: pure/concentrated caffeine (2018), as relayed).

To count your own total, use the SodaSlim caffeine check.
Liver
Can SodaSlim hurt your liver?
It is possible but rare. Two of its five ingredients, garcinia and green tea extract, appear in federal liver-injury records (LiverTox: Garcinia cambogia) (LiverTox: green tea).
Garcinia
Linked to severe or fatal liver injury in at least a dozen reports, many with older multi-ingredient products (LiverTox: Garcinia cambogia). NIH lists 10 liver toxicity cases, including 1 death and 2 transplants (NIH ODS: Garcinia cambogia/HCA). In 2009 FDA told people to stop using 14 Hydroxycut products after 23 serious liver reports (FDA Hydroxycut warning (2009), as reported).
Green tea extract
A well-established cause, with more than 100 published cases (LiverTox: green tea). NIH counts at least 50 case reports since 2006 and notes that USP advises taking extracts with food (NIH ODS: green tea and liver). EFSA links 800 mg of EGCG a day or more to early signs of liver damage (EFSA: green tea catechins (2018)).
SodaSlim's amounts are far below the levels in most of those reports: about 58.5 mg of EGCG versus EFSA's 800 mg. Still, EFSA could not name a safe dose (EFSA: green tea catechins (2018)). That is why the warning signs below matter.

What are the warning signs of liver trouble?
Stop SodaSlim and call a doctor the same day if you notice any of these. They are general signs of liver injury (LiverTox: green tea).
- Dark, tea-colored urine
- Yellow skin or yellow whites of the eyes
- Pain in the belly, often on the upper right side
- Unusual tiredness that does not lift
Bring the bottle to the appointment. The label lists every ingredient and its amount, which helps your doctor.
Who should skip it
Who should not take SodaSlim?
The label rules out three groups outright: anyone under 18, pregnant women and nursing mothers. Several more people should talk to a doctor before the first capsule.
| Group | Advice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Under 18 | Do not use | Stated on the bottle label |
| Pregnant or nursing | Do not use | Stated on the label; pregnancy caffeine advice is under 200 mg a day (MedlinePlus: caffeine in the diet (pregnancy)) |
| Irregular heartbeat or high blood pressure | Ask a provider first | Caffeine caution from MedlinePlus (MedlinePlus: caffeine) |
| Anxiety or sleep problems | Ask a provider first | Caffeine caution from MedlinePlus (MedlinePlus: caffeine) |
| Liver disease | Ask a doctor first | Two ingredients linked to rare liver injury (LiverTox: Garcinia cambogia) (LiverTox: green tea) |
| Taking any medicine | Ask a doctor first | The label says so; green tea can weaken nadolol (NCCIH: green tea) |
Report it
How do you report a SodaSlim side effect?
Get care first, then report. A doctor should see any serious reaction, and you can file a report with FDA through its MedWatch program for supplement problems.
1. Your doctor or urgent care, with the bottle in hand. 2. FDA MedWatch, so the agency can track problems across all brands. 3. The order desk at +1 (302) 200-3480 ([email protected]), with your order ID, so the seller logs it and can help with a refund.
The label also lists the distributor: Gex Corporation LLP, PO Box 12730, Ogden, UT 84404, +1 (507) 448-8190. Our website inbox, [email protected], cannot see orders, so use the order desk for anything about your purchase.
Keep the bottle, the lot code on it and the dates you took it. Those details make a report useful. For refund steps, see the 60-day guarantee.
SodaSlim is sold as a dietary supplement, not as a drug. Ask your doctor first if you take any medicine (the label says so), especially heart-rhythm or blood pressure medicine or nadolol, or if you have liver disease, anxiety, sleep problems, an irregular heartbeat or high blood pressure: each capsule has 138 mg of caffeine, and garcinia and green tea extract are linked to rare liver injury. See side effects and interactions.
FAQ
SodaSlim side effects FAQ
What are the most common SodaSlim side effects?
The most common ones come from caffeine: restlessness, trouble sleeping, a fast heart rate and anxiety. Each capsule lists 138 mg of caffeine anhydrous, so coffee, tea and energy drinks on the same day make these effects more likely.
Can SodaSlim cause liver damage?
It is rare but possible. Garcinia and green tea extract are both linked to liver injury in LiverTox, scored B and A. SodaSlim's amounts are small, yet no safe dose of EGCG has been identified, so watch for dark urine or yellowing.
Does SodaSlim raise heart rate?
It might. Caffeine can speed up the heart, and NCCIH says products with a lot of caffeine can cause abnormal heart rhythms. If you have an irregular heartbeat or high blood pressure, ask a provider before you start.
What should I do if I feel unwell on SodaSlim?
Stop taking it. Call a doctor for anything serious, especially yellow skin or eyes, dark urine or belly pain. Then report it to FDA MedWatch and call the order desk at +1 (302) 200-3480 with your order ID.
Can I take SodaSlim while pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. Per the label, SodaSlim is not for pregnant or nursing mothers. MedlinePlus also advises keeping caffeine under 200 mg a day in pregnancy, and garcinia's safety in pregnancy is not well known.
